I didn’t write this. My friend sent it to me and it made me laugh, so I’m sharing. (And there’s also the part where I stayed up really late with wonderful friends listening to fun, eclectic, just-plain-great music in Napa, and I think it’s quite possible that I’m not awake even now… as I type).
Enjoy!
It was a dark and stormy night.
They were together in the living room, just the two of them.
The storm had blown in quickly. Each time the thunder boomed he watched her jump. Looking across the room, she admired his strong appearance and wished he’d take her in his arms, comfort her and protect her from the storm. Suddenly, with a pop, the power went out… She screamed…
He raced to the sofa where she was cowering. He didn’t hesitate to pull her into his arms. He knew this was a forbidden union, expecting her to pull away, but she didn’t resist. Instead she clung to him. The storm raged on. They knew it was wrong, knew that their families would never understand. So consumed were they by their fear and their crazy mixed up feelings for each other, they did not hear the opening of the door, see the entrance of an intruder, but in the brief silence between thunder claps, they heard distinctly, the click of a camera.
