Friday!
I had such an interesting up-down, roller coastery week. I learned a lesson professionally (still learning the freelancing ropes), established two new working relationships, suffered maddening writers block before writing my first column (coming soon!), reconnected with an old friend (who has only grown more awesome with age), decided to explore vegetarianism part-time, and cut off most of my hair.
Hope your week was dazzling. Feel free to give me the highlights (or low lights if you’d like). And here are some Friday things for you:
- This blog, Paleofuture, is awesome! It is “a look into the future that never was,” predictions of innovation that never came to pass. (I want my hover craft!)
- This book spine poetry is totally cool and makes me want to go arrange my books! (Thank you, Hippiechick!)
- These printable fortune cookies are so cute. I can’t imagine when I’d use them, but I’m betting some of you could!
- This website, Very Demotivational, makes me laugh.
- This video is for my mom, the biggest baseball fan I know (and I know a lot of baseball fans).
Happy Friday, everyone!
(And no… I didn’t really cut my hair.)

Wild
Well, quite a little eclectic group for Friday, Ms. J
So funny about the book spine poetry. Less than two minutes ago, I had run across that while stumbling. Small internet. Hehe.
It was a great week in a lot of ways. Reconnected with my Jimmy Buffett Self and feel great for doing so.

holy cow! i was so shocked when i read that you cut your hair that i scrolled down to see if you were kidding. okay, now i can go back and read your actual post. :-)
George, Little late getting this one up. Fell sound asleep early last night. Your Jimmy Buffett self… that would be like the rest of us getting our Zen on.
jb, Yeah. Just making sure everyone is paying attention. Though I did have a moment there, standing in front of the mirror, frustrated and scissors in hand!
jb…I thought the same thing! What? Wait!!! J cut her hair? How did she keep this a secret?!
You totally got me. :)
And, yay, book spine poetry. I can’t wait to try my own…I hope to give it a shot over the weekend. Stay tuned.
So many good things here (that I cannot access at the moment)…something to look forward to tomorrow.
I know you have great hair, but I also know that you would look super cute with shorter hair too. So I was about to “demand” pictures. But I finished reading first. Good thing.
Perfect entertainment for a Friday. Thanks.
Despair, Inc. is where I first saw “Demotivators”. Funny stuff, buy you know me I like the more positive attitude.
I had the phone in my hand….then I read the last line.
That was just mean…… laughing….
Although I agree with Terre that you’d look adorable no matter how you wear your hair.
*holds hand up and swears to heaven she always pays attention*
And people say baseball is boring. Nonsense! Love it!!
i’m still trying to catch my breath and recover from thinking you cut your hair… don’t do that to us old ladies ;-)
Hippiechick, Oh! I want to see your book spine poetry. I’ll try too! Yay!
Terre, I like positive too, but I’m irresistibly drawn to irony. It’s my blessing and my curse.
Karen, We could be twins if I learned how to do that cute spiky thing.
Amy, I know, right? (My mom definitely doesn’t say baseball is boring!)
Peggi, Sorry. *grins apologetically*
Awesome week, of course. I came here and read — what’s not to love about that?
I’m not sure I have the patience for the book spine poetry because then when someone wants to read a book your whole system will be messed up.
I’m definitely going to do those fortune cookies though — I’ll send you some!
The baseball thing was cool. He was totally safe, I watched it several times.
Thank you!
boy see how fast you can get us all to go WHAT ????? she cut her hair ???
seems like alot of people had rollercoaster weeks,
today I have had every concievable bodily fluid released onto me, I’ve been biten and just as I was closing the clinic ripped off 1/4 of my big toenail… so I sit here
throbbing, wobbling, stinking. and giggleing
glad to be home the week is done :)
Becky, Yes, I think maybe you do your poetry, take a picture and then put the books away. That’s what I’m going to do! Are you really going to make the fortune cookies? That would be awesome! Take pictures!!
Lunajune, Ha! I guess I should tell people that you own a veterinary clinic so they’re not wondering what in the world you do with yourself during the week! Poor you… but still you are giggling. That’s why you are so very easy to love!
I’m trying to remember what I did this week and all I can remember is writing… oh, and the occasional tweet. I did, however, just have a little excitement when I read you cut your hair and sprayed a mouthful of water all over. You really got me! I can see the fortune cookies for a bridal or baby shower. Okay…brain is empty tonight, but I did enjoy all the links, J. *hugs*
So many cool things!
(You’ve just added these to my already opened 25 browser window tabs…)
Thank You!
