Time to beckon the lovely. This week’s assignment: Make Music.
Gotta admit, I was nervous about this one. (Although, seriously, I’ve been nervous about almost all of them!) As I’ve warned mentioned, I have little absolutely no musical talent. Despite years of piano lessons, I can’t play the piano, and I’m pretty sure my singing voice could be used as an effective part of any serious torture enhanced interrogation program.
That said…
I did it! I made music. Prepare to be awed. <– Typed while laughing.
I’m thinking of having “J Rocks” t-shirts made. What do you think?

And now for something completely different… Our very own Craig Wieczorkiewicz has a new gig. (Ours because I roped him into commenting on Zebra Sounds, and wouldn’t let him go.) Craig is the senior staff reporter/content generator at the hyper-local news site, Ottowa Delivered. I think this kind of focused local reporting might be the key to the newspaper industry’s future. I’m very excited for him, and happy to be reading him again on a regular basis. Please go check him out!

You just made me smile my first smile of the day(having just gotten up over here) and it is probably the biggest smile I’ll have on my face all day. Short, tuneful and happy–it’s music!
You are adorable, too, can I just say that(way better smile than mine)
OH MY G O S H how cute are you?
Smiling hugely over here.
That was great. I watched it a gazillion times and giggled each time.
Hugs!!!
Karen :0)
Brilliant, giving you a S.O. encore please!
Bravo! You did it … and I love your grin.
Tina, reading about your big smile might be my biggest smile of the day, too!
Karen, If it made you giggle it had exactly the desired effect. Hugs back!
Mairi, Thank you! (I was kind of nervous posting. Checked back here first thing this morning. Whew. Relaxing now!)
Linda, Ha! Thank you. My son watched it and said he loves how for a split second before the smile he can how I was all serious about getting it right and then it’s like I remembered the camera. Yes… that’s about right. =)
This is very nice, you were awesome!
I can’t wait for the VH1 Behind The Music to give me the inside details surrounding the tumultuous life and times of the gifted author turned musician! Sure hope they find the clips of you hanging out with Jagger!!
Thanks, Estrella.
Bobby, I’m photo shopping said pictures right now!
Great performance! Cheers followed by an overpowering urge to rush home and empty the cabinets to try to follow along. Or maybe I’ll just watch that video again. p.s. Watch out for those hungry music agents.
Tim, break out the glasses. We’ll do a duet. I can fit “Tim” on the t-shirt, too. ;-)
Earworm alert!
I couldn’t help but notice Lexi passed out on the floor behind you in the video. Not sure what that means exactly, but my dog probably would’ve been barking at me if I started clinking glasses.
Thanks for the mention about Ottawa Delivered, too! Our Web site is a work in progress (still haven’t incorporated video, for example, and site design is in flux), but I believe hyperlocal-focused coverage is definitely the future of journalism.
And, yes, I’ll always be part of the Zebra Sounds community, even if being ultra-busy saving journalism prevents me from commenting as much as I used to!
This is such a cool idea! And… nice tune!
Awesome. You are so cute.
The third time I watched it, I was wondering how long it took you to get that tune down.
It was awesome. You are so creative. I love it.
I would like “in” on the hug-fest going on between you and Karen, please.
Hugs! Hugs! OOOOO Hugs! Hugs!
Nicely done.

Bravo! Bravo! Where can I get a tee shirt?!? :-) Seriously, writing and music go hand in hand and I think your inner musician is itching for more.
Craig, You know I won’t let you off the hook just because you have an important paying gig. (I told Lexi, “You be my fan. Act excited.” You see by her performance that acting is not in her future.
Tim, I assume you mean that the Beckoning of Lovely is a cool idea (as opposed to my becoming a professional and passing out t-shirts.) But thank you! (That tune is one of the ones I can actually play on the piano. My mom is wondering why she paid so much money to that damn piano teacher.)
Terre, You’re in! You watched it more than once? Yay! Sparkly hugs to you!
Kid, I so know you were holding your Bic lighter in the air as you typed that. ;-)
Lake, Thank you! You would know about writing and music. You tempt me to actually make the t-shirts, just so you can send me a picture of you wearing it.
Of course I watched it more than once. And a lot of times in a row. It is just so cute!
finally got to this post… i love this! who is is that is not tone deaf and was able to get the levels right in the glasses? also, is the tone the same with wine in the glass?
imagine how this may have turned out if you used wine and had to drink to get the tone correct…
Terre, Thank you! In the absence of talent, cute was what I was going for! =)
Peggi, You’re welcome for not making this a drinking game! THAT would have been scary!
OMG! OMG! OMG! Your smile is even MORE dazzling in this video. I SO hope that NYTwitter2010 happens! Bringing my sunglasses to wear when looking at your smile. I have to thank @Hippiechick68 for providing the link to this post on Twitter. I knew I needed to go back through all of your “Beckoning the Lovelies” posts. Too late tonight, but I will be doing it soon. This made me really happy! I adore you, J. Dani
